Dr. Candice Nicole Hargons
Dr. Candice Nicole Hargons (formerly Crowell) is an assistant professor of counseling psychology at the University of Kentucky, where she studies sex, social justice, and leadership – all with a love ethic. She is a qualitative researcher, teacher, leader, and healer. As a licensed psychologist, she specializes in sex therapy and healing racial trauma. At UK, she directs the RISE2 Research Team (Relationships, Intimacy, and Sexual Enrichment/Race, Intersectionality, and Social justice Engagement). Dr. Hargons has worked with several organizations – Delta Sigma Theta, Alpha Kappa Alpha, and Omega Psi Phi, universities – Georgia Tech, Emory University, Howard University, and other groups on enhancing awareness of sexual health. She served on the Kentucky Psychological Association Board, the Society of Counseling Psychology Executive Board, and the American Psychological Association (APA) Council of Representatives.
